What are some digital painting programs?

Yep Photoshop is the best...Others like Corel products - like Painter X or something....which I too love....A free PS alternative that some like to use is called GIMP. YOu may want to check that product out.





There's a freebi painting only program Called ArtRage as well.
Adobe Photoshop of course gets a lot of rave reviews. The free alternative is Gimp, or The Gimp as it's sometimes called. There's also Corel Painter, the free alternative I know if is called Artweaver. There is another program I found for free called Saia 5. You can also find Open Canvas 1.1 (which allows you to network with someone else so you can draw together) around the net for free. Or if you'd like it's small enough where I can e-mail it to you. And as someone else mentioned there is the free version of ArtRage. Oh and there is also Paint Shop Pro which is similar to Adobe Photoshop.





On one last related note, it's always good to know what you intend to use the software for. For instance if you want to use it for digital painting using a tablet, I'd suggest open canvas because the program is meant specifically for tablets and their pressure sensitivity.
