If you put something (ie. canvas painting) over a digital thermostats will it effect temp in my house?

My thermostat is in the middle of my living room wall (its an eye sore).


Just curious if placing a painting on top of it, will really effect how my thermostat works.

Yes - your thermostat measures the temperature of the house in order to control the heating or a/c system. If you cover it the thermostat cannot do it's job properly. If you put something (ie. canvas painting) over a digital thermostats will it effect temp in my house?
Yes it will affect it. If you really want to cover you can, it will just take longer for the thermostat to adjust to temp change
