Any good digital art painting software's? ?

I am starting to get interested in Digital Art, and would like to know how to paint it....I would like to know a good software to start with and then a good website were I can learn the basics of digital painting.

Thanks in advanceAny good digital art painting software's? ?
Good beginning programs are:

http://opencanvas.en.softonic.com/ (free)

http://www.ambientdesign.com/ Very good and cheap ($25). There's a starter edition that's free (scroll to the middle of the page).

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/u鈥?/a> ($90)

The basics of digital painting are the basics of painting. There's little difference. BUT... save your pennies and buy a small tablet and pen. There are used and refurbished ones out there that are cheaper than new. It's difficult to paint with a mouse or trackball because there's no pressure effect (the paint line gets darker and wider as you press down on the brush and lighter and narrower as you let up the brush pressure.)
