you can download free trial versions for some softwares, such as Photoshop. I bought photoshop CS3 not too long ago after testing it with the free trial.


If you really want to buy Photoshop, you can get a discount if you are a student.


...and just practice practice PRACTICE. you will need some time to get used to the tools, and there are lots of tutorials online if you ever need help.I would like to learn digital painting, any tips?
Look at the tutorial from the best, i.e Linda Bergkvist. Then, practice! Practice! Practice!





It doesn't matter whatever software did you use whether it commercial such as Corel or Photoshop or free software such as GIMP or Inkscape.

You really need a pressure sensitive pen with tablet. (Such as a WACOM Tablet).





Then buy Adobe Illustrator. Wonderful program and every bit as interesting as Photoshop.
